THE PSYCHO-CYBERNETICS ADVANCEMENT AWARD

A preface to this compendium of advanced leaders.  Dimensions of goal orientation and multiversal perception.  

FROM THE  HEART

Christmas 2022.  Memory lives on. 

The great continuity begins with the first impressions when very young.  Even then, we were accessing the ancient attention of those before us who created the Traditions from their own memory. When we see a bright and cheerful  decoration and say, "There you are, like before," we know what it means to enter 'days of yore.'

I noticed a few years before he passed away that my brother always put up large bells in the hall at Christmas.  I imagine he drew on the same memories that I did about the large red bells that were suspended from street lights on Higgins Avenue.  And there were smaller crepe paper versions of red bells suspended from the ceilings of our parent’s home.  My brother was a tough guy, no nonsense.  But he loved Christmas.  I hope he is having a wonderful Christmas as he wins in his new shining place in the Next Dimension.

A theme I've ignored because of the pain of losing a brother and our way of relating while he was still among us physically.  Also a debt to him I never acknowledged because serious conversations were avoided except for certain rare times. It goes like this - -

In his teens, my brother received visits from a counselor.   The counselor left him with two books to study which were "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and "Psycho Cybernetics" by Maxwell Maltz. I  glanced with interest at the books where they sat on my parent's coffee table.  My brother was only 14 at the time and I never saw him read the books.  I on the other hand devoured the contents like they were life saving help. They were.  A road to my successful future was entered thanks to that professional counselor who I never met.  The counselor must have been a renegade, not ensconced in standard educational doctrine.

I always wished my brother had read them so we could talk about the contents.  Maybe he did, or just found the light within himself, because he gained amazing  skills in the building and carpentry work that he used to build environments for his social interests.  Anyway, I could refer to my interest in metaphysics with him as long as I used phrases like 'crackpot' etc.  My brother would say, "You crackpot!" as a greeting or comment when he saw me. This sense of identity in our relationship was fine with me because he was relating with a good heart.  We were close.  His death was devastating.  Not having my brother was something I had long feared.  But it made me appreciate him more in the moments we shared the lake, funny stories, rare mystic experiences, and old cars.  Appreciate the moments because they are fleeting, but the intention lives forever.

I did not order the Psycho-Cybernetics book from Whole Earth Catalog, but knew I should appreciate the chance to read it when it arrived by chance at my parent’s coffee table. 

Published in 1960, have the subsequent years seen any improvement in the concepts of this book?  No.  Advancements through dedication of smart people in consciousness and self-image research, yes 

The Cosmic Catalog Psycho Cybernetics award - - -    

for the best current resonance and advancement of the book by Maxwell Maltz. The magnificent curriculum of Whole Earth Catalog introduced the ad copy to me in pages that included Norbert Wiener, and R. Buckmisnter Fuller. I later met the actual book through coincidental good counseling.  How work reaches us is a story in the dynamics of success in our lives.     

The heart of the work is still reaching us through the efforts and enthused dedication of some people I admire.  Their work is independent and from their own engaged research.  They have not copied Maltz but their work is of an equally high-quality.
